The Cozy Island Cottage is nestled under the shade of large live oak trees on James Island. Conveniently located 5 miles from Folly Beach and downtown, you are just minutes from the best Charleston has to offer. This new construction "beachy farmhouse" cottage features an open floor plan, 17 ft cathedral ceilings, fully stocked kitchen, live edge slab island bar top, over 250 sqft of outdoor living space, a bedroom with queen on main floor, and loft with queen bed accessed by a spiral staircase.

Space
This spacious, well designed cottage offers a full kitchen with all the essentials, comfortable tiled shower with rain shower-head, and detachable shower-head, easy key-code access, Wifi, two flat screen smart TV's, laundry room, inside and outside seating areas, grill area, outdoor shower and ample space in the large shady backyard to play and entertain. The spiral staircase to access the loft is narrow. If you have trouble climbing stairs or are over 250lbs using this staircase may be challenging. Beach chairs, an umbrella, a cooler, a portable speaker are provided for you convenience as well as coffee, sugar, bath and beach towels, bed linens, paper towels, toilet paper, and soaps.
Access
In addition to the cottage, guests have access the to the fenced-in 1/2 acre backyard, with ample parking for cars, boats, RVs etc. (backyard is shared with home owner and guest of the Island Hideout). Guests also have access to the outdoor grill beside the deck.
Interaction With Guests
Owner lives in the house at the front of property and can be available for any issues or questions you may have about the area, restaurant recommendations, or activities.
Neighborhood
Centrally located in a convenient James Island neighborhood, only a quick 5-mile drive or Uber ride to both Folly Beach and Downtown Charleston. Beautiful James Island County Park is close by as well as restaurants, bars, shopping, banking, and convenience stores within a half-mile.
Transit
Uber and Lyft are plentiful and affordable. There are also local yellow cabs, limo services, and a public transit.
Notes
There are two other units, The Island Hideout and The Island Nest, attached to the rear of the front house, that may house other guests during your stay. The structures are separated by about 200' but are on the same half acre property so please be courteous. The Cozy Island Cottage is the Stand alone in the back corner of the yard. House Rules
-Guest must follow all house rules outlined on the platform, in rental agreement and digital guidebook -Any refunds for cancelations will be less the credit card processing fees. - Quiet Hours are after 11pm. Failure to follow quiet hours may lead to immediate cancellation of booking without refund. - This is a self-check-in property; you certify that you are willing and able to follow the instructions that are provided through Airbnb and/or the digital guidebook link prior to your check-in date. Failure to follow check-in instructions resulting in the inability to access the unit is not grounds for cancellation. - There is a $500 fee per day for smoking inside the unit. - There will be a $50 fee for any unauthorized late check out. - Damages/losses as a result of guest failing to follow the house rules as provided, requiring the subsequent guest(s) to be discounted or refunded will be the responsibility of the negligent party -If hanging any type of decorations, only use wall safe tape. - Please confirm the number of guests in the reservation. Any additional guest will incur an additional fee. - Guest understands that exterior surveillance and noise monitoring devices may be used on the property. -Any and all pets must be approved and applicable pet fee paid. Any unapproved pets on the property is a violation of house rules and will incur a penalty of up to $500. No cats.

We enjoyed the lowlands cottage. It was perfectly sized, and quiet. The air conditioning was perfect, and we appreciated the high ceilings, ceiling fans, blackout curtains, labels for switches, phone charging side tables and free snacks! The beds were exceptionally comfortable, best quality in any Airbnb that I’ve stayed in. The sitting area for the front house(other rental) is visible from the living room and is about 75 feet away, quiet but visually distracting for us. We didn’t get to the beach but we appreciated that there was beach gear & towels and a washer/dryer. Host was very responsive. Cute spot!

What a cozy and clean cottage! Although it was situated on the same property as other rentals, we felt it was private and definitely enough room for all of us. The downstairs bed was suuuuuper comfortable and the location was a short drive to everything in Folly Beach and the essentials. We also appreciated how the rental was dog friendly. Would definitely stay again!
